First interested in art, Jean Davoust discovered the world of publishing in 70.

In 1972, he was hired by Daniel Filipacchi to run the newest Warner Bros Filipacchi, that gathered soon Warner Bros USA and England. During these years, Warner Bros was the largest representative of foreign acts and Jean Davoust worked with such legendary internationally-known bands of the time such as DOOBIE BROTHERS, EAGLES, ZZ TOP, CHRISTOPHER CROSS, SCORPION... and interested in French singer/songwriter as MARIE-PAUL BELLE, TRUST, CHARLES DUMONT... The company got the international hit Joe le taxi by VANESSA PARADIS.

In 1989, he became the Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music France where he discovered a treasure of phenomenal French writers such as JACQUES BREL, GEORGES BRASSENS, SERGE GAINSBOURG, MICHEL JONASZ...

An industry leader, Jean Davoust also heads the French MPA and was president of the International Confederation of Musical Publishers.

In 1998, Jean Davoust created its own company and get a major million-selling French single "TU M'OUBLIERAS" by Larusso and continue to represent some of publishers and artists he started with : J. Albert & Son Pty LTD, Golden Mountain M ...

In 1999, he signed a long-term joint talent development agreement with Famous Music. Although just formed, Davoust/Famous has begun an aggressive signing schedule including two scores by internationally-known, award winning composer MICHEL LEGRAND, for the French film DOGGY BAG, directed by Frédéric Comtet, with such top French stars as M. Laroque, D. Bourdon and Line Renaud and LA BUCHE, which marks the directorial debut of noted screenwriter DANIELE THOMPSON. Other new signings scheduled include : POSITIVE RADICAL SOUND, an reggae-ragga-rap multiracial band ; 9 AVE B, the duo of SOPHIE AND EMMANUEL REVERDI, receiving excellent reviews.

In addition, Jean is also interested in developping with Music Sales and a French partner a French musical site called MUSIQUE EN LIGNE. This musical site offer the possibility to download Sheet Music by the consumers.
