Vanda (Vandelice Lopes Marinho) was born in Jacarezinho, one the biggest favela of Rio de Janeiro (Brasil). She wanted to make her mother's dream come true, to sing and to perform. At 12, she began with Samba's bands, and 3 times she sang and danced at the "Carnaval" of Rio de Janeiro.
The dream went further when she performed in the most famous place of Rio de Janeiro such as City Theater, Churrascarias, Rio Palace Hotel, Méridien Hotel, Rio Othon Hotel, Rio International Hotel, Sambola, River Club, Terreirao do Samba...
In 1995, her first CD, "SERENTE", was recorded in Rio and produced in Switzerland. Many shows happened yet, in Crans-Montana clubs and many brasilian and switz TV invited Vanda to perform with a lot of celebrities like Cindy Crawford.
The first CD's sales reached some thousands units in Brasil, so Sony Music International (Brasil) produced the second, called "EXPLOSION", in Rio in 1997. Its rythms made to appear like actual brasilian music.
Vanda Lù presents now 2 new albums "Dance & Bossa", arranged and recorded by Claude SALMIERI, playing with many famous french musicians - Patrick Bourgoin (sax), Jannick TOP (bass), Basile LEROUX (guitar) and Claude SALMIERI (batterie/clavier). They are produced by RENE REY (Switzerland) and published by Midiplus Edition (France).
Let's go to the sunshine with Vanda's sensual voice on brasilian rythms...
On march 4 2002, Vanda won the Rio Carnaval at the SAMBADROME with the "MANGEIRA" samba school.
